Dr. Abiodun Layonu S.A.N
Profile
Dr. Layonu was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982. He obtained his LL.B (Honours) from the University of Ife in 1981, a Masters of Law (LL.M) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (University of London) in 1984 and Ph.D in 1989. Prior to and after his postgraduate studies, he worked with the firm of Kusamotu, Olojo & Co. in Lagos. He also served as Legal Officer with the London Borough of Southwark and as a part time Law Lecturer at the Willesden College of Technology, London. He has put to good use his academic qualifications and experience in the areas of the firm's Solicitors and transactional practice particularly in the preparation and vetting of Legal documentations and agreements relating to Bank security documents, Industrial and Company Law Matters, and in Conveyancing. His brief also extends to Admiralty matters.
Dr. Layonu is a director in several companies including Stabilini Visinoni Ltd, a Construction Company and Bi-Courtney Ltd, the Concessionaire of Terminal 2 of the Murtala Mohammed (Domestic) Airport. He also served on the Land Use and Allocation Committee and Local Government Service Commission of Oyo and later Osun State. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) Nigeria Branch. Dr. Layonu is an astute advocate and trial lawyer particularly in the fields of commercial law, construction, property litigation and arbitration.
